Pistons On the Square – Georgetown, Texas

It’s a happening thing on the square in Georgetown, Texas every third Saturday of the month. I had not been seen last spring. Just couldn’t get it in my head that it’s not the first Saturday or Sunday of the month, nor the last, but the third Saturday Okay, got it. I went today , arriving about 8:45 – the official start time is 8AM and the official end time is 10AM.

Most of the cars were in place around the square which is centered by the beautiful old Williamson County Courthouse. Georgetown is one of the prettiest towns in Texas and when you add pretty cars to the mix, well it just can’t be beat.

This might be enough words because the stars of this show are the cars (and the people looking at the cars). Here are some of the images. Note: I also shot a roll of black and white film with my Nikon F3 – which may be the best manual Nikon professional camera ever created. Winding the film on that camera is unlike any other – even better than my Leica M4, really!

My work for pay was technical writing. But my passion is collecting classic photo gear and using film cameras and digital cameras to capture images that inspire and motivate me. I hope that you are inspired as well. This site is more about my places that my wife and I go on our travels. Or articles about cameras and lenses that I am currently using. Sometimes I will include links to images that I want to share with you.
