The world looks different when you focus on the small details. If you are going though the paces, living your life, and don’t have the big picture, I guess you might struggle a bit. We are constantly asked about where we are going, what are you doing, where are you headed. I get it. But with all of that, if you don’t take some time to notice some of the small things, well, you are just missing out.
So this morning I am thinking about some of the details that we all might miss along the way. The pleasure of something insignificant in the grand scope, but oh so important. Like taking a breath of fresh air. Long ago someone sang “stop and smell the roses. Someone else said “can’t see the forest for the trees.” So I sit here early this morning listening to Americana music and my fingers are just working pretty much without direction. Punching out some words while my feet are tapping to the sounds of Gram Parsons and Emmy Lou Harris singing “Return of the Grievous Angel” from a long time ago.
(Shameless public plug on must watch TV …We got home from a play at the local high school last night and dialed up the last two episodes from 1883 on Paramount – wow, what great cinematography, dialog, and acting with impact. Watch it.)
So what would a post be without a picture. Let me find something appropriate and I will put it here.
Hard to see thru the fog – get closer to mother earth. Turn on your fog lights and slow down… Take a deep breath, and listen to some good old music. (It’s the rivers edge from a few weeks ago.)
