Nikon Lenses Adapted to Fuji GFX50S

The featured picture for this post was taken with a Nikkor 60mm macro lens mounted on the Fuji GFX. I wanted an example of macro image in very high resolution.

The following images were from other Nikkor lenses. I mounted a Nikon 85 1.8 autofocus lens on the Fuji GFX today to see how easy it was to use and if the image quality was as good as with my Nikon D850. On the GFX the 85mm lens works out to around 67mm. Here are two examples with that lens – I am not really sure of the f-stop, probably around F/4. Of course the autofocus doesn’t work on the Fuji. But I can change the aperture, shutter speed, metering, etc. The adapter includes a pseudo aperture ring that allows me to change the aperture on Nikon “G” lenses.

I was in the garage taking a picture of my Jeep. The next one is the Mexican plum that just started blossoming yesterday. The depth of field was narrow hence the out of focus areas just inches from the in-focus areas. Focus peaking on the camera and zooming on the electronic viewfinder works great to nail focus.

The next two pictures highlight the results of mounting the Nikkor 16mm fisheye on the GFX – the field of view is equivalent to approximately 13mm on a 35mm full frame camera. You be the judge if this works or not.

Here’s one more from that combination.

I am quite pleased and know for a fact that my Nikon glass has found another way to be useful – especially for landscapes. One more and then I am going to try other lenses with my GFX.

Happy shooting my friends. See you next time.

My work for pay was technical writing. But my passion is collecting classic photo gear and using film cameras and digital cameras to capture images that inspire and motivate me. I hope that you are inspired as well. This site is more about my places that my wife and I go on our travels. Or articles about cameras and lenses that I am currently using. Sometimes I will include links to images that I want to share with you.
