Vintage Cameras and Old Film – Chasing Better Pictures, Part 1

Recently, I had the good fortune to use two Rollei cameras from the mid-fifties; one was the Rolleiflex 2.8D with the Carl Zeiss Planar 80mm 2.8 lens, and the other is the little brother, a Rolleicord Vb, with the 75mm 3.5 Xenar lens.

Here is a picture of the Rolleiflex 2.8D.

The color pictures were shot on Ektachrome color slide film from the Rolleiflex, and the black and white pictures are Kodak TMax 400 from the Rolleicord. I am pleased with how things turned out. I think with a little more practice and improved focusing, it will be even better.

My work for pay was technical writing. But my passion is collecting classic photo gear and using film cameras and digital cameras to capture images that inspire and motivate me. I hope that you are inspired as well. This site is more about my places that my wife and I go on our travels. Or articles about cameras and lenses that I am currently using. Sometimes I will include links to images that I want to share with you.
