It was the third Saturday in August and it was time to load up some camera gear and make the drive from Leander to Georgetown, Texas. If you have been here before, you will know that I make that drive to shoot cars and people every third Saturday of the month. It’s been very warm the past few weekes and Saturday was no exception. Early in the day is nice, but it goes over 100 degrees by early afternoon. As of today we have had 23 days over 100 degrees with many more in the forecast.
I took two cameras with me, a Fujifilm X100vi and a Leica Q3 43. I think these are the two best everyday carry, one camera, one lens options that you can find anywhere on this planet.
What’s In The Bag (Fujifilm X100vi)
Of course the Fuji X100vi was in the bag but I also included the 28mm Wide Conversion Lens (WCL), three extra batteries, and a set of Nisi ND filters. The Billingham bag is perfect for carrying this small kit. It weighs next to nothing.
Here are some of the pictures that I shot with this setup; the 28mm WCL was attached. The normal lens is a 35mm f/2 but the WCL converts the camera to a 28mm lens. I shot all the images directly as jpgs using the Provia film simulation. These images are SOC (Straight Out of Camera).

I was also carrying my Leica Q3 43. It comes with a fixed lens as does the Fujifilm X100vi series. The Leica camera is equipped with a 43mm leica Summicron f/2.0 lens that literally excels at every kind of photography. I am including several of the images shot with this camera last Saturday.
Whats in the Bag (Leica Q3 43)
Very simple, one Leica Q3 43 camera (yes, the red dot is covered) with a Helium handgrip, one 43 mm lens with a circular polarizer filter, an extra battery, a Godox flash, a extra UV filter, and a square lens hood and cap. The bag was custom made and works perfectly for this minimal kit.
